Changing your personal account into business account is pretty easy to do. All you have to do is to go to your Instagram account and tap the button with three lines given on right corner of the app. Next click on settings and browse to button “Switch to Business/ Creator Profile”. How to View Your Insights?
To see your Instagram insights, first go to your creator account and click the “Insights” button. This will open up your insights automatically. Now the insights that you can see from your profile are Content, Activity and Audience. Below we’ve mentioned each of them in detail:
Here you can see the insights related to your posts on your profile. It includes video, photo, stories or even paid posts that you have published. This basically shows the insights on your feed posts, stories and paid promotions including how they are doing or performing.
Under this, you can know by how often your photos were seen for different time periods, that fit your purpose. E.g., Engagement for the last 2 weeks.
In stories, you can see how many impressions you got for your stories and this can also be changed in days to whatever your needs may be. You can however, not visualize the over-time performance in insights related to it.
If you are using promotions then only you can see these metrics. Here you can see the demographics/location of the people who watched your content.
In activity tab, you can get important insights about profile visits, website clicks, number of people found your content, etc. You can even track weekly reach, interactions, and impressions.
Here you can see the number of total interactions you got on your account for past 1 week along with few others stats. At the top of it, it shows bar graph that shows how many interactions you got in 1 week. Using this, you can compare easily between the interactions from prior week. Though the insights are available for only one week. So it might not be useful if you are looking for it in the long period of time.
In this, the number of people who actively visited your page.
Here you can see the total number of website clicks you’ve got in the site linked to your Instagram description/bio.
If you have added email in your bio then you can see the total number of users who’ve clicked on your email.
In this you can see the number of people who’ve pressed “Call” given on your profile.
Here you can see the overall performance of your Instagram account. Again, it will also show a bar graph which shows exactly how many accounts were reached by your posts.
In this you can know about the new accounts that may have seen your posts. It means that your account has successfully made onto the news feed of that number of accounts.
Here you can know the total number of times people have seen your posts. If your number of reach is higher than impressions then it means that people might have interacted with your post for multiple times. Most of these people will be the people who follows you as they get to see more of all your stories and posts.
These stats can be important for your business for comparing the reach or activity on your channel.
In this section, you can see the information related to your followers & audience demographics, when they come online and more. It will help you understand your audience better, how they have grown in past week comparing to other weeks. Using these data, you can know to offer the content that fit better with your audience because you can know about their age, gender, place and other such information.
In this subsection, you can see how your followers have grown over in last week (7 days) or in a single day. Under this, you can know the total number of people who have followed or unfollowed you.
Here you can see the bar chart of where your audience come from. This subsection is divided either into countries or cities. On clicking on the bar, you can see the total number of people in percentage who have come from that place.
In this chart, you can know the range of your audience. You can also divide them into men and women.
In this pie chart, you can see the gender of your audience. This is another vital metric you should know about, because knowing the gender of your audience can help you to know what to post that they’ll like. Also, this metric is important for you if you are into paid marketing as well.
One of the important thing for any Instagram user is to know about the best time to post on Instagram so they can get the highest rate of engagement.
